Service Description: The feature class consists of Nye County Assessor's parcels with selected attributes from Nye County and information from NDWR that identifies parcels for which water rights have been relinquished, or dedicated, for the drilling and use of domestic wells. Domestic use and domestic purposes are defined by Nevada Revised Statutes 534.013 and 534.180.Nevada State Engineer’s Order 1293 was issued on December 19, 2017. The order prohibits the drilling of any new domestic well in the Nevada portion of the Pahrump Artesian Basin (Basin 10-162) unless water rights have been relinquished to support that well. This dataset was created to be used as a reference tool for the general public, displaying the water right relinquishment status of parcels in Pahrump Valley, Nevada. This information was compiled based on recorded subdivision letters, county assessor data, and records of water right relinquishments at the Nevada State Engineer's office within the Nevada Division of Water Resources (NDWR). This vector polygon feature class was created using the Nye County Parcel Dataset as a template and attributes were assigned to each parcel based on the water right relinquishment status.
